1. Preparation before sowing
Season: Sow from December to January, harvest from January to March. Late sowing is susceptible to powdery mildew.
Soil: Loose, humus-rich, well-drained soil
Seeds
Tools: Sow in the garden, pots or foam boxes.
2. Sowing & care
Sowing: Rows 60cm apart, holes 15cm apart, 2-3 seeds per hole (leave 1-2 plants). Planting in pots: 2-3 seeds/box. Cover with thin soil and water.
Watering: Keep moist 70-75%.
• First week: water 1-2 times/day.
• After that: 1 time/day (reduce watering in the rainy season).
Fertilizing: Use organic fertilizer, do not use fresh fertilizer.
Top dressing 3 times: when the plant has 4-5 true leaves → when it starts to flower → after the first fruit crop.
Combine with hilling and weeding.
Pruning: Prune old and diseased leaves; each plant keeps 4-5 branches.
